Who We Are

Planted Indoors is run by Michael Probert, a writer and researcher with a genuine interest in growing edibles and herbs indoors year-round. Our verdicts are research-led: we dig into product specifications, compare manufacturer data, draw on published growing science, and synthesise what real growers report — then we lay out exactly how we reached each recommendation.

We don’t have a physical test lab, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What we do have is a commitment to getting the specs right, screening for recall history (especially for electrical grow gear), and explaining our methodology transparently so you can decide how much weight to give each recommendation.

What We Cover

Our focus is the gear that makes indoor growing actually work: grow lights (LED, full-spectrum), smart indoor gardens and hydroponic systems, grow tents and seed-starting setups, and accessories (moisture meters, heat mats, self-watering planters).
